JJ used a deliberate policy of Rural electrification to link the Afram Plains to the rest of Ghana through a rather expensive but useful method known as " connection by sub-marine cable". This was before then, seen as impossible in Ghana. At a point in time in Ghana, people in the Fumbisi area couldn't go into their farms to get us food to eat in Ghana. It is the same JJ you are insulting here today, that used deliberate policy of tackling the parasite that was infecting the indegenes with ",River Blindness":or Oncho. If today Ghana is free from diseases such as Bilharzia, Guinea Worm, the six childhood diseases, river blindness, Burulli Ulcer etc ,thank JJ Rawlings, who showed leadership in mobilizing agencies like the UNICEF, National Council for Women and Development etc to nip them in the bud.
