A former senior member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has predicted doom for the political career of the party's aspiring National Chairman, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, saying his career was “finished”.

In an X post on August 21, 2026, Koku Anyidoho reacted to Nii Lante Vanderpuye’s apology to Sammy Gyamfi and the NDC, using the opportunity to launch a fresh attack on the former MP over their long-running disagreement surrounding the late President John Evans Atta Mills.

According to him, Vanderpuye’s failure to stay true to his conscience had cost him his political career.

“This gross inability to be true to your conscience has FINISHED your political career,” Anyidoho declared.

He accused the former DRIP Coordinator of doing nothing to honour the memory of President Mills following his death, despite having served closely with the late president.

According to Anyidoho, he made personal sacrifices and defied several challenges to ensure that President Mills was given a befitting burial.

“We were very close brothers; President Atta-Mills died and all I did was defy all odds to give him a befitting resting place; you did absolutely NOTHING to help honour the memory of our late Leader and boss,” he said.

Anyidoho also accused Nii Lante Vanderpuye of making false claims against him after the death of President Mills.

He alleged that the former Odododiodio MP held a press conference and accused him of attempting to exhume the remains of the late president.

“You wickedly held a press conference to lie to the whole world that I had gone to dig up the grave of the late President and run away,” Anyidoho said.
