Aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, is set to begin a nationwide engagement with party executives and stakeholders on Sunday, August 2, 2026.

The tour will begin in the Oti Region and continue through the northern sector of the country, according to a statement issued by the NPP Communication Directorate on Friday, July 31.

The engagements will bring Boadu into contact with NPP Regional and Constituency Executives, party wings, the Tertiary Students’ Confederacy Network (TESCON) and the media.

The statement said the tour is intended to provide Boadu with an opportunity to congratulate newly elected constituency executives, listen to their concerns and present his vision for building a stronger and more united party ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Boadu is expected to emphasise the importance of unity, discipline, reconciliation and grassroots mobilisation in strengthening the party’s structures.

He will also call on party members to work together towards the election of former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as President in 2028, while seeking to secure a parliamentary majority for the NPP.

“Mr. Boadu will stress the importance of unity, discipline, reconciliation, and grassroots mobilisation as the Party prepares for the 2028 general elections,” the statement said.

According to the statement, Boadu believes that a united and revitalised NPP is necessary for the party to return to government and implement policies aimed at advancing Ghana’s development.

“John Boadu believes that a united and revitalised NPP is essential to returning to government to implement transformative policies that will advance Ghana's prosperity through development embedded in freedom and justice,” it stated.

The aspiring national chairman is therefore urging constituency executives and other party members to actively participate in the nationwide engagements.

The tour forms part of Boadu’s campaign ahead of the NPP’s national executive elections, as aspirants seek to engage the party’s grassroots and present their visions for the party’s future.
