Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Jennifer Oforiwaa Queen, has criticised Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), religious leaders, and traditional authorities for what she describes as their silence over the legal troubles of the party's Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi.

In a video sighted by GhanaWeb where she was speaking on Movement TV on July 27, 2026, she warned that some individuals and groups who have remained silent would not receive any consideration from the NPP if the party returns to power after the 2028 general elections.

According to her, she has already drawn up a list of people she intends to distance herself from should the NPP form the next government.

"When we come into power, for the first six months, I have a list of some people, including chiefs, pastors, and other high-profile people, I will blacklist from contacting me. I have already informed them of my decision to block them," she said.

Queen accused Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), traditional leaders, pastors, and journalists of failing to speak out on developments surrounding Wontumi's case.

"Everything that is happening in this country now, CSOs have suddenly gone silent and are not talking about it. Neutrals, traditional leaders, pastors, and Christian society have all gone silent, affirming that they are in full support of whatever this government is doing. We have journalists claiming the president is deputy Jesus Christ on earth," she stated.

She further claimed that the NPP would remember those who remained silent if it wins the 2028 elections.

"When we win power in 2028, our candidate will be the deputy Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ himself, the twelve disciples, and everything. The silence these people have taken should remain like that till 2029. Power is transient, and on the night of December 7, 2028, after we are declared winners, no one will leave this country, and we shall see. We will see those who will come out to speak," she warned.

Chairman Wontumi was sentenced to a 20-year jail term by an Accra High Court in the Samreboi illegal mining case, where he was charged with unauthorized assignment of mining rights and facilitating illegal mining.
