That said, the AG opposition to the law suit is appalling. Why should government funds for local government business be paid into a politician’s personal account? Please, SCRAP it. What has Afenyo-Markin, A-Plus, Speaker of the parliament saying about this overt fleecing and thievery of public funds that cannot be properly traced and accounted for? I mentioned these people names/position, not due to their importance, but because they are loud and talk about corruption but are quite when the money is going directly into their PERSONAL ACCOUNT. Whaaat!!!

There has been a recurring incidence of MMDCEs sitting on MP's Common Fund allocations especially when the MMDCEs have their eyes on the MP's seat in the next elections but this patently unwise and illegal arrangement is not the solution, there must be a legal framework with sanctions governing the release or non-release of the Common Fund to MPs, Parliament must come out with such a framework asap. This is another freeloading gimmick ploy by the executive.

It is so sad that sometimes one does not know what to say? MP's common Fund - Really? May God have mercy on us. Ever since they PAC started interrogating the various ministries, departments, etc, have ever heard of PAC interrogating any MP? And we have an ATTORNEY GENERAL arguing against this - that this is the good way to go and that the fund belongs to the MPs?
On March 31, 2025, GhanaWeb reported of each MP going to receive about GHC1.57 million as their allocation. With such an amount going to individuals without accountability. Those who have being in parliament for as many years we can thing yearly receive the Common Fund and use it the way they like.
The Attorney General should continue defending this and the people of Ghana are watching.

What does the DACF law say about that? I have not seen anyone quoting the law. Has this not been the practice over the years? What has changed suddenly to make it look like it is wrong? Are the allocations audited at the end of every year? Hat is the pattern of audit findings on the use of the funds? Is it not appropriate for MPs to have access to some funds to promote developmental projects? More questions than answers presently.
