Well spoken but this isn't an NDC problem. It's rather the kind of multi party democracy we're practicing. Can we choose leaders in a different manner like the Swiss? Can we reduce the powers of the president and rather make our local government rather more powerful and accountable? Can we elect Regional Ministers, MCEs, DCEs and Assembly members? Can we allow the police to work independently and accountable to local police command rather than the IGP? I think that there's too much power concentration at the top. We'll do better if we do a proper decentralisation and not like the one we're currently practicing.

The process we have will work relatively better than our track record of government administrations since 2000 but only when we either educate the uneducated and undereducated folks who would rather die for a political party than vote for another party that would provide conditions for long life, health, safety and security.
The NPP and NDC members and supporters vote along party lines because the presumed educated party class wants political appointments. Given the opportunity, there are intelligent, principled people with foresight who would choose MP's and a president based on their love for Ghana that would include crossing party lines to select better candidates from other parties.
It is rather unfortunate that majority in the current NPP prance around like peacocks but are some of the self hating people with hatred for mother Ghana and love for party not because the care about sustainability of the party but because of the money they can get into their pockets with the party as the government majority.
Who in their right mind, as a member of the NPP majority party under Akufo-Addo /Dr. Bawumia government, ignore completely the completion and operationalization of a hospital complex in their home region for 8-years and in 2026 have the nerve of a brass monkey to force his way into the guarded hospital complex because he is an MP?

Well said Fifi. Something is fundamentally wrong with the political leadership in Ghana. As you rightly said our leaders are more concerned with withholding power than taking the difficult decisions to move the country forward. I am sorry to say Mahama is a very weak and undynamic leader. Ghanaians are praising him because we are falsely comparing him to Akuffo Addo. The latter was the worst President in the history of our country. The inefficiency of Mahama is very clear when one compares him with leaders such as Dr. Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia and the Presidents of Botswana, Namibia, Burkina Faso and Tanzania. Mahama is too soft and too slow. His inability to appoint a new Defence Minister (since the demise of the former Minister almost a year ago) speaks volume.

FALSE. This nonsense started in the 80s and which gov't was in power in those years? Floods and rampant building of houses on water ways started way back in Rawlings' era but because it started gradually and in few locations, the signs were ignored. Before Rawlings came the term was kalabule and probity and accountability preachers christened the very word which they came to abolish it to corruption and 'protocol'. Indiscipline we are witnessing didn't start in 2000s but the 80s and we're now paying dearly for our actions and inactions. The revolution was to eliminate kalabule and instill discipline in the society but it didn't work even before the military gov't left the scene. So I asked myself what legacy did the revolution left Ghanaians? Rawlings did his best but his best wasn't enough and that has brought us here.
