The Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has criticised the National Democratic Congress (NDC), describing the administration as a “scam” that has failed Ghanaians within a short period in office.

According to a report by thechronicle.com.gh on May 20, 2026, Annoh-Dompreh said worsening economic conditions and growing public dissatisfaction should spur the Minority in Parliament to intensify pressure on the government while addressing the Minority Caucus Workshop held at the Accra City Hotel on Monday, May 18, 2026.

“We cannot sit back while the cocoa farmer is wailing, the teachers and nurses are wailing, public servants are wailing, and market women are wailing. This is the reflection of the scam of the NDC government,” he is quoted as saying.

Despite reduced numbers in Parliament, the Minority Chief Whip insisted that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) had distinguished itself as a “Mighty Minority” through effective scrutiny of government policies.

He noted that the caucus had repositioned itself after the party’s electoral defeat and was now “stronger, more agile, and well-informed” ahead of the 2028 elections.

Annoh-Dompreh also claimed that the NDC had become unpopular “even faster than anticipated,” citing the return of power outages, popularly known as dumsor, and the reduction in cocoa producer prices as evidence of poor governance.

On the ongoing debate surrounding the Bank of Ghana’s 2025 financial statement, he accused the government of politicising the matter to divert attention from deeper challenges.

“In recent times, the critical national debate on the Bank of Ghana’s 2025 Financial Statement, which was unnecessarily politicised and prematurely addressed, has exposed the NDC Government’s desperation to mislead Ghanaians at all costs,” he said.

He further praised members of the Minority Caucus for their resilience over the past 16 months, despite political attacks and the loss of a colleague in Parliament.

He went on to say that mentorship programmes for first-time MPs and strengthened committee work had been introduced to enhance parliamentary performance and public communication.

Calling for unity, Annoh-Dompreh urged his colleagues to remain committed to holding the government accountable while presenting themselves as a credible alternative.

“The hope of a prosperous Ghana is still etched in the hearts of our people, and we are indeed capable of delivering this to Ghanaians,” he concluded.
