Aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, says he will help create jobs for young people if elected.

Speaking to TESCON members and students at the University of Ghana Business School on May 16, 2026, Wontumi said an NPP government under Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in 2028, paired with his leadership, would improve job prospects for graduates and the unemployed, citinewsroom.com reported on May 16, 2026.

"If you make me the National Chairman and Dr Bawumia becomes the president in 2028, God will use me to create jobs in this country," he told the students.

"All your relatives who graduated and are also looking for jobs to do, they will also get work to do because of you," he added.

Wontumi is among figures positioning themselves ahead of the NPP’s internal leadership contests as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.
