‘Mills Is Party Oriented And Not Nation Oriented’ Says Anthony Karbo.

Mr Anthony Karbo, National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party[NPP] has stated that the government of President Mills is more interested in entrenching itself in power than finding solutions to the crisis in the country adding that the government has demonstrated that it is not capable of meeting the challenges facing the people of Ghana.

According to him, the Mills-Mahama administration has put’ party before people and politics before progress’ and its main preoccupation in the last two years has been that, all policies were more oriented towards party interests than national needs.

Mr Karbo was who was addressing a meeting of National, Regional and Local Executives of the Party in Hamburg – Germany over the weekend, said the record of the government has been a catalogue of failures including the National Identification Exercise, the Population Census and the just ended District Assembly elections all of which ended in total disaster. He declared’ the National Identification exercise was a complete flop, the Population Census ended in a fiasco while the District Assembly Elections were a shameful and embarrassing.’

In the face of all these failures , the NDC government, has unashamedly continued to blame the previous government for all what had gone wrong in the last two years instead of coming out with coherent policies and programmes to alleviate the suffering of the ordinary Ghanaian. He contended that the Mills Mahama administration does not have the right policies to move Ghana forward and noted that what they have offered in terms of Policy, if any ,lacks direction, consistency and is in most cases contradictory.

The National Youth Organiser insisted that Ghanaians have lost confidence in the government and are looking up to the NPP to come to their rescue saying that the NPP cannot afford to let our people down. He warned that while the NPP does not advocate nor endorse violence, the Party will not allow it’s followers and supporters to be intimidated and will match the NDC boot for boot come if and when the need arises.

Mr Karbo disclosed that the Party has put in place a comprehensive training programme aimed at equipping party workers and activists with the needed political skills to ensure victory in 2012.He emphasized that these training programmes would require funding, logistics , knowledge and expertise and called on the External Branches to actively get involved .

Earlier in a welcome address, Mr Dwamena Yeboah , National Chairman of NPP-Germany gave the assurance that NPP members in Germany are determined to provide all the needed support so as to bring the NPP to power come 2012.
He explained that as citizens of Ghana, we have a duty to ensure that we help elect a government that has the vision and the right policies to govern our country by upholding the rule of law ,respect for personal freedoms and property rights. This, he argued, is not just a political imperative but an economic necessity because most of us here have our investments in Ghana and continue to support the Ghanaian economy through our remittances and other contributions.

Mr Yeboah announced that Germany will host the third International Conference of the Party in Hamburg from 9-12 June 2011 under the theme ‘RECAPTURE 2012’ and said Dignitaries expected to attend include Nana Akuffo Addo, NPP Flag Bearer, Ex-President J A Kuffour, Mr Jake Obetesebi Lamptey, National Chairman and Former German President Horst Kohler.
