Such comments stem largely from ignorance and i advice that some of us read about the evils of chattel slavery which should rightly be treated as the greatest crime to humanity. Are some of us aware that when slavery was abolished in the 19th century slave owners were compensated for losing these "slave properties" despite the fact that these slaves had sweated and offered free labour to these slave owners? So if African countries are asking for reparative justice it is fair and proper. Let us not see this issue from the myopic partisan lenses. Reparative justice is a very serious matter !!!!!!

Before the Almoravid Invasion of the Songhai Empire, the people of West Africa were selling their own to the Arabs. How many Slaves did Mandy Musah send as slaves on his Pilgrimage to Mecca? Estimated to be about a Hundred Thousand? And do people think that he sent them on a tour to Saudi Arabia? He sold them out.
How come we have Black Indians in India now? How did they get there? Africans soldiers their own to the Indians across the Indian Ocean. Who forced Africans to sell their own? Greed and foolishness.
Who should pay the Reparations? Modern Europeans, Canadians and USA citizens? How were they involved in the Trans Saharan Slave Trade?Our ancestors were stupid and greedy enough to sell their own for such trivialities like clothing, Alcohol, plates, mirrors etc. Even if Reparations are paid to Africans, they will end up in the pockets of their greedy and useless politicians.
African Politicians should stop preaching about Reparations and rather work harder towards the advancement and betterment of their people.

Go to Upper Region of Ghana, and ask indigenes there how some of their people got trafficked and ended up being sold to the Europeans. Some Hausa people from present day Niger and some guy from present day Guinea were accepted to live in a community. These people tricked natives in towns there that they were bringing their youth to the South of Ghana to find them jobs. Once they got to Cape Coast and Elmina these Hausas and the Guinean sold them to the Europeans. Once the natives of the town got to know the true behavior of these crooks, and they tried to fight them, more of them ended up being captured and sold to the Europeans because the criminals had obtained sophisticated weapons from the Europeans the natives couldn't match.
It's better to find out the various ways that Slavery occurred rather than spreading what are half truths

We have to continuously be grateful to the Europeans & Americans for accepting Africans in their soil. I don't think Africans or Ghana deserve reparations. Some people who are in Europe and America would today would be useless here if they had not been in Europe or America. Today, what do we say? Some visa applicants have been rejected several times but people still try to be there at all cost.
In my opinion, we should even be thankful to them. All the donations they give we don't even know where they are channelled into.
