I sometimes don’t blame these politicians because the internal auditors involve themselves in operational duties through the archaic pre audit process because of the tips they get from that function. Internal Audit auditors should allow the finance officers to do their jobs while they maintain their independence to ensure that the systems in place are strictly applied.
