No wonder JDM said Ghanaians have short memories. When ndc lost heavily in 2016 elections, similar sentiments were expressed by npp supporters when things were right in the first term of npp gov't. In Nana Akufo Addo's first term he chalked many successes, free SHS, restored trainee allowances, the cedi was adjudged the best performing currency, was able to opt out of IMF conditionalities in very short time to the surprise of many, inflation dropped from 40 something percent to around 18%, employed all back-log nurses, midwives, teachers, other health workers including medical doctors etc. Prices of goods and services stabilised as it's happening now and it was upon these successes that npp members and supporters said ndc would rot in opposition. In fact, ndc didn't rot and they are in gov't now 8 years down the line so it's now the turn of ndc people to say npp will rot in opposition. As a floating voter, I see the whole thing as part of politics and as long as Ghana economy is not being managed by Ghanaians but IMF and donor nations, walahi, anything is possible as tomorrow is unpredictable. Our politicians are not discipline at all when it comes to economic discipline. Time will tell if npp will rot in opposition.

And then he appointed his cronies to non existing jobs as Staffers and Advisors and is paying them huge huge salaries and allowances including garden boy allowance and clothing allowance. He abolished the E levy and introduced special import levy. He has increased water and electricity bills and has also put a levy on petrol.So petrol is expensive. Prices of goods are expensive. Brothers, this message is what we all need now, to appreciate how we all nearly escaped Nana's destruction of our lives. Just look at what Nana and his government did, look at Mustapha Hamid, look at the monies stolen at the National Service Secretariat, look at Ofori Atta and the monies he stole, where's Ofori Atta now? We are going to August but Ofori Atta hasn't stated publicly when he's returning to account for the lot of monies he stole. Look at all these monies the NPP government was stealing ? All these monies could have made our lives better to live well and put food on the table. Under Nana the dollar and exchange rate was in the red so we were really suffering and dying because we just couldn't buy basic foodstuffs to prepare decent meals for our kids.. but now look the dollar and exchange rate has stabilized so well so that now the Cedi is the most performing currency in the World. And slowly things are getting affordable just under Six Months. So what about two years? It means we can take care of our kids and families with ease. This is just what the Honorable is proudly saying and he's not saying cock and bull stories because he belongs to another party. He's talking about achievements for the sake of all us , Ghanaians who uses to suffer greatly under NPP. Let's stop reading His Excellency's message with political lenses but rather accept the bare truths and we go on to improve all our lives.
