Couldn’t you have just said he was solely responsible for giving us our independence? If that is hard for you to say, then Nkrumah was not the founder of Ghana. He was initiated into the independence movement and was once a member of the UGCC from which he broke away to form his cpp. Independence was given to Ghana, not to the cpp and explains why there had to be an election to choose the president of the day
