The Law Is In the Bosom of Judges.
What Mr. Freddie Blay says is a fact that the law is in the bosom of the judges.
Kwaku Azar can remember that in 2002 the Supreme Court ruled that an act enacted by parliament cannot take retrospective effect in the Case The State Vrs. Tsatsu Tsikata.
The then President John Agyekum Kufuor was in Australia when the ruling was made.
Kufuor said that when he returns to Ghana he will appoint more judges to the Supreme Court to reverse the verdict.
When Kufuor returned from Australia he added about four or five more members to the Supreme Court judges who overturned the earlier ruling that an act enacted cannot take retrospective effect.
The new panel stated that an act enacted must take retrospective effect contrary to Ghana's 1992 Constitution and The United Nations' Convention on Human Rights.
So since judges are human beings just like the rest of us, they have their world outlook and are also partisan.
So that is why the law is in the bosom of judges.

Stop deceiving people. The said ruling was on 1) the automation of the court system. Secondly, Tsatsu claimed that as at the time he stole the money, the constitution has not come into effect. This ruling by the then NDC supreme Court judges was mischievous because crime has no expiry date.
