I doubt if Wontumi is a tribal bigot. Wontumi is just pathetically ignorant and highly myopic when it comes to matters of politics. At a time when the NPP needs to galvanize its members in all the regions to embark on a unified line in order to redeem its massive loss at the polls, Wontumi continues to be guided by ignorance as he seeks to become the NPP's National Chairman. A man who has been used to using his wealth to buy his way through party elections can't suddenly be practical in his pronouncements even at a time when party unity within the NPP is a much needed commodity.

You may be working hard for the NPP. Unfortunately, your open display of wealth on TV keeps putting people off. Ghanaians generally don't like people who boast about their wealth. Have you ever seen Ibrahim Mahama (ENGINNERS & PLANNERS) Late Alhaji Asumah Banda (ANTRAK) and Alhaji Adamu Iddrisu (GLOBAL HAULAGE) openly talking about how rich they are? If you become the national chairman, what language will you use to communicate outside the Ashanti region? You people have demoralized ordinary NPP supporter's big time as if you didn't learn anything from Kufuor and his appointees/ national chairman and his executives. If NPP ever wins elections with people such as Akuffo and his bunch of appointees in the helm of affairs the NPP will become an endangered party in Ghana. Greed, selfishness, inward looking, arrogance, empty pride on the part of Akuffo Addo and majority of his appointees (not all) was what brought NPP to its knees in the elections.
For Ghanaians to go back for the very Mahama they rejected earlier tell you that compared to Akuffo Addo, Mahama is/was far far better than Akuffo Addo.
