John Mahama is honest! Please he and Nana Addo are far apart on the moral and ethical grounds. Turkey built the National mosque at Nima, Saudi Arabia Turkey, Dubai or some other Islamic states will easily contribute to build the Hajj village

They are all intended for religious purpose, and I feel governments must not assume such responsibilities. If Muslims want to visit Mecca or Christians want to visit Israel, it is in their personal and religious interest, and should not be the responsibility of any government. We are told that the Hajj village is to be funded by the Ghana airport company limited. Meanwhile, Ghana airport company limited is a state-owned company formed from the Ghana civil aviation authority. So how is it not government funded?

This allows state companies to borrow on the strength of their balance sheets without burdening the central government. That was how we built the new Kotoka Terminal 3, which has paid for itself through the tolls etc, which are collected at the airport. The new Tema Harbour was done with the same concept. The new Hajj village would be built using the same model. This is prudence to the highest order! How can anybody compare this to the National Cathedral project, which lacked sense and is shrouded in opacity? In the case of the cathedral, govt went straight into our consolidated fund and pick money and termed it "contingency" and wasted it on that phantom project. It's good A-plus has raised concerns about the Hajj village project, however such concerns are mostly needless. AS an MP, he can easily have access to all information regarding the project for his perusal and education.

The church which is the biggest developmental partner of the state does not deserve a Katidra! Are we just not hypocrites? In our sixty de3ben history as a country, the church has built more schools and hospitals than any other developmental partner. Not even the British who stole most of our gold.

Surprising, most of us were born Christians yet we did not think the country deserves a national Katidra. The first line of our national pledge says "God bless our homeland Ghana" yet we decided against building a Katidra for the church. Are we just not hypocrites?

Because even after the two weeks of using the village facility, for the remaining 50 weeks of the year, the facility will be REDUNDANT. Their churches are attacked and burnt on unfounded allegations and in some places they are even killed just because they are Christians, yet some foolish politicians want to bend over backwards for Allah and his fake prophet Muhammad, the PEDOPHILE. ORAL is investigating allegations involved in the construction of the cathedral in Accra, I mean the swimming pool. Politicians should stop playing with the minds of the citizens. There are a lot of uncompleted projects outside there, please complete them for God sake. New projects are always the source of income for corrupted politicians. No to Hajj village no to swimming pool cathedral!

I have already started my mission to oppose any foolishness emanating from the NDC regime on my FB, but it's appearing to be a daunting task. I had already condemned unreservedly President Mahama's intention to restore Republic Day holiday but turn it into a Day of Prayers and Thanksgiving.

After the trauma of undergoing the weekly criminal revelations of Ablakwa he dubbed "scandals" and failed to report to the appropriate law enforcement authorities, I'm unable to cope with the daily foolishness coming from the NDC.

All sane and rational Ghanaians must join to rebuff this backward obscurantism that has engulfed the secular state of Ghana too. New Hajj Terminal indeed! At a time when one of my old students association is trying to levy us as much as $30 a month to rebuild the dilapidated school infrastructure? NO WAY! Stultitia delenda est - stupidity must be destroyed!

You are either showing ignorance or religious biases. Well, the reason why it's worth every penny to construct the Village is this;

1. The Muslims give Ghana Airport Company over 10,000 Hajj passengers every year as a religious group. No other religious groups in Ghana give the Ghana government that amount of passengers every year.

3. Which means Ghana is guaranteed 0ver 10,000 and potentially more than that until the world comes to an end.

4. The Muslims pay the government the cost of travel 3 months ahead of travel and this means fiscal space for government. This money is used to pay your salary for at least 2 months before the travel date is due. If the government is to borrow this money from the treasury bill market as it has been doing, it will be paying at least 20.79% interest rate.(it used to be 29%).

5.This year for instance, every Muslim wishing to travel to make HAJJ will pay 62,000 Ghana Cedis. This will guarantee Government over 620,000,000 Ghana Cedis 3 months ahead of the actually travel.

6. Which religious groups in Ghana give Ghana Airport Company (Ghana Government) this amount of passengers at a goal?

7. Muslim Pilgrims pay from their own pocket. The Government does not pay a peswa for any Muslim Pilgrim to make Hajj.

6. So, improving government facility for passengers who constantly guarantee government easy cashflow cannot be said to be wasteful at all.

7. The HAJJ VILLAGE is NOT like the NATIONAL CATHEDRAL in any stretch of imagination.

8.Ghana Airport owns its land, constructs and retain its property. There is NO Muslim Booard that will draw on public purse like the CATHEDRAL did. Muslims do not have ownership whatsoever.

9. The HAJJ facility is nothing more than an airport facility owned and managed by Ghana Airport that is going to be used by Muslim Pilgrims for a FEE.

10. The Muslim Pilgrims pay all fees and charges for using Ghana Airport facility. The 62,000 Ghana Cedis the Government is charging for this year Pilgrims includes such fees.

11. Muslim Pilgrims DO NOT USE TAX PAYER'S MONEY for Hajj. They pay every peswa from their hard earned money.

12. And so, unless the criticisms is borne out of ignorance and political persuasion, I will be surprised anyone would like to equate the HAAJ VILLAGE to the NATIONAL CATHEDRAL.

13. The two are NOT the same

14. Whilst the HAJJ VILLAGE is a true strategic infrastructural investment wholly owned by Ghana Airport Company, with NO Muslim group managing it, and with guaranteed returns for Government in perpetuity the NATIONAL CATHEDRAL is NOT.
