If the Speaker displays a partisan and open biased posture, the MPs will not respect his decisions. The Speaker must be seen to non partisan and fair. You have been in Parliament for a long time and can compare the posturing of past Speakers. The late D F Annang was a Speaker when the majority had more than 70 per cent seats. But everybody MP respected his decisions. He was never partisan. The same can be said of other Speakers like Peter Ala Adjetey, Odoi Sykes. How about you the current Speaker? Do you remember what happened when you attempted to declare some seats vacant? How about your decision to disobey the Supreme Court? All these have affected discipline in Parliament. Do a self assessment and mend your ways for discipline to return to the House of Parliament
