This is not the first time and it is not going to be the last time if steps are not taken to address how vehicles in convoy to include all those SUVs drive dangerously on OUR roads. Some drivers of the aforementioned vehicles assume that once these vehicles are fitted with special purpose lights, sirenes etc., they have the all cleared greenlights and sole RIGHT to disrespect and disregard other road users. What is the purpose of convoys driving at top speed? I noticed with disapproval how vehicles in convoy, especially the so called V8s drive carelessly at top speeds with a foolish sense of entitlement as if other road users do not matter. The guidelines for escorting dignitaries and vehicles in convoy must be reviewed to make our roads safer.

The police Situational Report is stating a falsehood. How can a car which is inside a convoy be overtaking a tanker? How did the tanker find its way between cars in a convoy such that one of the cars in the convoy will have to overtake the tanker? If you have ever seen a presidential convoy moving you know that this police report did not capture events on the ground. They should investigate the police officer who wrote the report, he/she may be trying to put the convoy driver at fault in order to gain something from the Kia driver whose recklessness resulted in the collision.
