A Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Osman Masawudu, has described Mustapha Abdul-Hamid as arrogant, claiming he became full of himself after receiving a political appointment under the previous government.
According to him, unlike in the period before he became widely known, Mustapha Abdul-Hamid stopped answering calls from national officers of the party.
He said the former appointee failed to show respect to the party’s leadership and that even after the matter was reported to the president at the time, nothing appeared to change about his attitude.
“Someone like Mustapha Hamid became so arrogant that we had to go and report him. As someone who had occupied national positions in the party and later became a minister and CEO, you should understand the importance of national officers, but that was not the case. Nobody in the national office could get Mustapha Hamid to pick up our calls.
“Our ministers did not give us the respect we deserved as national officers. We believe some of them stayed in their positions for too long, so they became convinced they could not be removed. As a result, they chose to do what pleased them instead of what would benefit the party. That is why the General Secretary came out to say that ministers who are tired should resign,” he stated in an interview with Atinka TV.
