Professor Joshua Alabi, one of the defeated flag bearer aspirants of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should watch out for them come 2020 general elections.

Speaking to the media in Accra on Wednesday, Prof Alabi warned that the NDC is poised for victory.

"To the NPP, get ready! The NDC is coming like kakai” he said.

“It is now time to face the NPP and win back to provide solutions that the people of Ghana so much need. I am confident that with the unity in our party, the NDC will win the 2020 elections. I wish to use this opportunity to call on all the other aspirants to contribute towards NDC Agenda Win 2020” he added.

Alabi further noted that the NDC is coming out with scientific, well-strategized campaign policies that would give them the feat to win the elections.

He encouraged party members and leaders to put away their differences and refrain from acts which could affect the party’s victory.

He also called on the aspirants of the just-ended presidential primaries to contribute their quota towards the agenda 2020 win.



Background

On February 23, 2019, about 300,000 delegates from across the country went to the polls to vote for a presidential candidate who would be the flagbearer of the party in the 2020 general elections contest.

Former President, John Dramani Mahama emerged the winner of the elections with 213,487 votes representing 95.23 percent hence, would run the 2020 presidential race on the ticket of the NDC.

Mahama will be contesting against flagbearers of the NPP, CPP among other political parties in the country.
