Dr. Edward Nasigri Mahama has finally given up his presidential ambition by accepting the appointment from President Akufo Addo to serve as an Ambassador-At-Large.

This is according to political science lecturer with the University of Science and Technology, Kwesi Amakye Boateng.

According to Amakye Boateng, after failing to make an impact as a presidential aspirant for five times, Dr. Edward Mahama has hanged his boots and decided to serve Ghana as a diplomat and statesman.

The lecturer was speaking to host of Abusua Nkommo, Kwame Adinkrah, in response to a decision by national leadership of the People’s National Convention to haul the party’s presidential candidate in the last elections to an emergency meeting.

The PNC believes Dr. Edward Mahama has betrayed the party by accepting to serve under the government of the New Patriotic Party.

But Kwasi Amakye Boateng disagrees. He says, “Dr. Mahama has subtly announced his retirement from the presidential race.”

“He is now ready to serve as a diplomat and a statesman. The party must begin to look beyond him and find another person to lead the party,” he said.
