###SOURCE: CLASSFMONLINE ------ The Government of Ghana is reviewing the debts incurred by the John Mahama administration to find out whether the loans were used for the purposes of which they were contracted, Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo, has revealed. After the review of the debt situation, the findings will be made public to enable the Ghanaian people realise how their moneys were spent by the previous administration, Mr Marfo added. It is recalled that during the electioneering season the then main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) accused the Mahama government of excessive borrowing but with little to show for, an assertion the then governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) rubbished because they thought they had embarked on several infrastructural projects with those loans. Mr Marfo speaking during the National Policy Summit on Tuesday May 16 said revealed that the new government is investigating all the debts left behind by Mr Mahama. “We are working on the numbers, the ministry of finance gives us the bulk numbers. But they do not all emanate from one source, we have some sitting in energy, some sitting in SSNIT and we are examining all. As a government and we are doing it gradually and slowly because we must be accurate. “We want to be sure that whatever comes out finally is accurate. The government owes it as a duty to keep the nation informed about these debts and what it was used for.”

The frequent call to volunteerism should appeal to our conscience. We have to accept that the state cannot do everything. There is moral satisfaction in helping meet a pressing need.

When government seize mission schools this is what happens. Any decision we take has a consequence. The church cannot continue to use its resources to build and maintain schools only for some drunkards to take over under the cloak of decentralization. The wise decisions must be taken. If city dwellers who can afford paying dollars are taking insensitive decisions based on their situation without input from stakeholders, disasters will continue.

So how come we are seeing situations of this nature. Dilapidating school all throughout the country. yet past Govt used state funds to purchased 4 by 4 for MP's and others who were not even grateful and on top looted more of state funds by over inflating project cost leaving nothing for the improvement of renovations of all schools in Ghana. What a disgrace. Can any one tell me why these lot wants to come back to rule Ghana again. No body in their right sense will welcome such move. It is only NDc who will.

Please stop talking nonsense. Are you saying because the government did nothing to help , you sit down and wait until your children are killed by the falling walls ? Of course, the Government is responsible for this ,but i blame the Headteacher of the school. He /she must be sacked. Other Headteachers do all they can to solicit funds for the maintenance of their schools. Look at the compound of this school. The whole picture looks like a publc latrine. The people of Agona Bobikuma including their chief and the Preby. Church must be ashamed of themselves. I am sure there is a big funeral going on today .
