Odartey Lamtey was then playing for Cornerstones in Kumasi and would not have been less than 19 years then. The GFA forged the ages of the players for the then under 16 World cup. It is this age-cheating which eventually told on most of our over-aged players such that their contemporaries from Brazil, Spain and other countries went on to become great players while ours faded out quickly. Shame on the age-cheats!!!

I also heard of the age-cheating without much evidence. The writer will do readers a lot of disservice if he doesn't go back to research into this allegation of age-cheating. Let's have the records straight.

Thank you Mallam. When I was reading this, I suspected age cheating and believed the guy might have been in his early twenties playing in the under 16 age group especially when they mentioned the death of his two children.
