There are striking elements of 'Trumpism' in our new Administration in Ghana. And this is one of them--the reluctance of the newly appointed Officials to pooh-pooh any laws that require them to divest or declare their assets. Another is the savage roguish assaults on Government outfits all over the country to force their hooligans into employment without the due processes. In some cases, it is clear these thugs force themselves into duties that they don't seem to be anywhere qualified to perform.
To be fair, however, we all sat there mum to let the erstwhile Mahama Administration get away with similar breaches of our Constitution. Why wouldn't the new Administration expect to be treated similarly?
Nevertheless, I am coming down harder on the new Administration because its leadership campaigned to be exceptionally diligent and law-abiding, and scandal-free, promising us all an exemplary style of governance that would set the tone for our future regimes.
Well, we expect the Administration to honestly start off fulfilling those promises by strictly complying with the request that the MP made.

If Ken Ofori Atta and his fellow cohorts of Akufo-Addo's, who have long hidden their wealth outside the country, fail to correct this grave mistake, the Public would have to take it as an indication that they would be chopping our money 'funa, funa', like did the former regime, but only in a more refined way that might escape the notice of the ordinary folks. We should not underestimate the ability of Ken and his relative, Boakye Agyarko, to hide hefty funds in safe havens abroad hardly leaving any trail behind.
Ghanaians must be more awake than ever before. We do not need any 'Trumpism' in Ghana to further exacerbate our situation. Akufo-Addo and his new Administration must not act like they are fully exempted from obeying our Laws. If they did so, they would be in for the nastiest shock of their lives.
