It's OFFICIAL!!!
Bawumia is hollow and a classroom economist. So lets interrogate the merits of his claim on public capital expenditures:
Getfund has been established by JJ Rawlings to take care of educational infrastructure across all levels of education, you Bawumia and the NPP thieves have since collateralized the fund and took the money and had looted much of it. Consequently, you're finding it difficult to fund educational projects only to be talking about roping in the private sector to build and lease to government at a cost that will be in multiplicity of what could've been far less should the government fund its own projects from the Getfund as it were.
What kind of warped logic is this coming from someone they hail at the least opportunity as being a smart man. I bet these people are so bereft of cogent ideas and very sad these are the leaders in this country.

You rather have the warped logic. He says he is not the current president. He didn't appoint finance minister or get fund boss etc. it's also a fact that the money is not there and there's not much anyone can do. We are already in a lot of debt.
If we borrow today it will be at high cost and likely via the bond market to finance infrastructure. The problem though is that govt often fails to pay contractors on time so the project will stall while accumulating interest.
If private sector builds it and rents to govt, govt won't have to borrow money again.
The interest and principal the bond holder would have collected would simply go to the builder of the school. The project will finish quickly since the private man pays for the whole project and won't get a cedi unless the project is complete.
It's actually novel thinking to allow govt to reduce its debt stock.
Even Mahama will need a similar model in order to survive if he wins. We have a debt problem and cannot pretend we don't. This govt caused a lot of it, no two ways about it

Former Prez Mahama was already doing what you are now thinking of doing when by mistake Ghanaians gave you power. It was that model used to expand our ports both at Tema and Takoradi. The Terminal 3 project and Ghana Gas plant at Atuabo. The power plants etc. Had Ghanaians exercised a little bit patience with Former Prez Mahama, Ghana would have been far advanced in every area of the economy. Most of the projects he had started were transformative and needed more time to yield the good results.
