Cocoa is grown in different parts of the world, and these growers certainly can't be experiencing the same conditions for prices to sky rocket suddenly. It's all price manipulation by middle men and investors wanting to reap instant high profits while the farmers in places like Ghana and elsewhere in Africa continue to receive hardly anything for for their hard labour. Time for cocoa farmers in Ghana to get together with their counterparts in Ivory Coast and form a unified organization that will will ensure that cocoa farmers get a fair price for their products instead of relying on the government to determine their destiny. The cocoa farmer should be in a position to determine the price of the cocoa, not the middlemen or the government.
