Man gets 7 years for defiling and biting genitals of 15-yr-old girl

Derrick Amponsah, a 27-year-old excavator operator, has been jailed by the Bekwai Circuit Court for defiling a 15-year-old student.

While doing the already abominable act, Amponsah also bit the girl's genitalia.

The defilement which happened at Manso Yawkrom in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region left the second-cycle student bleeding profusely from her genitals.

According to a Joy News report, the medical report of the student revealed that her hymen had been broken completely.

Prosecutor Detective Chief Inspector, Stephen Ofori, told the court presided over by Her Honour, Joyce Boahen that Amponsah in the process used his fingers, mouth and manhood to abuse the young girl... even biting off a really sensitive part.

He said at about 11 am on April 15, 2020, the accused called the victim on phone to help him do laundry at his house.

Upon return, Amponsah realised his dirty clothes were still unwashed, so, he quickly rushed to the victim’s house and called her, but she refused to follow him.

He later managed to get the young girl to follow him, upon reaching his house, Amponsah asked the girl to take the lead and enter his room but the girl objected.

He then, dragged her inside, forcefully pushed the girl onto his bed and without her will, had sex with her.

Detective Chief Inspector Ofori said, Amponsah’s mother showed up later and provided water for the victim to clean herself.

Derrick Amponsah, according to the police was later arrested following a report and he subsequently admitted to the offence in his caution statement to the police.

He was arraigned before the court, and he pleaded guilty to two counts of assault and defilement.

Both acts contravene Sections 84 and 101 respectively the of Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
