The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has closed down the Amsterdam Pub at Laboma in the Greater Accra Region following an overnight intelligence-led operation targeting narcotics-related activities at the facility.

According to an Accra FM post on Facebook sighted by GhanaWeb on September 9, 2026, the raid, carried out in the early hours of Tuesday, September 8, 2026, forms part of NACOC’s intensified crackdown on suspected drug hotspots in Accra.

Officials stated that the operation was prompted by credible intelligence linking the popular entertainment venue to illicit narcotics dealings.

Photos accompanying the post captured what appeared to be workers and revellers lying on the floor with their hands raised, while armed security personnel from NACOC stood over them.

The Commission has yet to release details on arrests or seizures made during the exercise, but confirmed that the pub will remain shut pending further investigations.

The Amsterdam Pub, located within the bustling Laboma enclave, has long been a popular nightlife destination.
