The Ghana Police Service has arrested Sibamay Zakaria, who was captured in a viral video assaulting a suspect.
According to a statement from the police on August 13, 2026, it said Zakaria is currently in custody assisting with investigations and will be put before court.
The statement also added that the Police Professional Standards Bureau has launched investigations into the issue.
"Meanwhile, the Police Professional Standards Bureau is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and all persons found culpable will be taken through the necessary disciplinary processes," the statement read.

The Ghana Police Service earlier commenced a manhunt for Zakaria after he was captured in a viral video assaulting a suspect.
The Service strongly condemned the incident and said it had intensified efforts to arrest the suspect and put him before court.
