The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested five suspected armed robbers at Sapeiman Faase in the Greater Accra Region during an intelligence-led operation conducted with the National Police Intelligence Directorate (NPID).

A statement released on July 20, 2026, indicated that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are members of a criminal group involved in armed robbery and landguard activities.

The suspects, arrested on July 17, 2026, were identified as Torgbui Agah Semaglo (50), Shadrach Agah Semaglo (22), William Kweku Sedanu (21), Cyril Kassenu (26), and Kingsford Agah Semagio (18).

Items retrieved after a search during the operation included one (1) pump-action gun, one (1) Stoeger ST-R9 pistol, one (1) dummy Austria pistol, one (1) jackknife, one (1) face mask, twelve (12) BB cartridges, three (3) rounds of 9mm ammunition, one (1) AK-47 round of ammunition, one (1) talisman, and two (2) kitchen knives.

“All exhibits have been retained for evidential purposes,” the statement indicated.

According to the statement, the retrieved weapons were allegedly used to terrorise residents in Sapeiman and surrounding areas.

The suspects are currently in police custody, helping with investigations, while efforts are underway to establish their involvement in other robbery cases and related criminal activities.

The Accra Regional Police Command commended the public for providing credible information.

It also advised residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through emergency lines.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens across the region.
