A heavily pregnant woman has appealed for help on Lawson TV after alleging that her partner of five years physically assaulted her in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking on the station's domestic dispute resolution programme in a video snippet sighted by GhanaWeb on July 19, 2026, the woman accused her partner, identified only as Bernard, of subjecting her to repeated physical abuse in their relationship.
According to her, her partner frequently demands sex and insists on a particular sexual position despite her being eight months pregnant.
"My partner cannot go a day without sex and he prefers doggy style. Even while I'm eight months pregnant, he insists on the same approach.
"He sometimes beats me and tears my clothes when I resist. During one such assault, he pushed me outside without any clothes on," she alleged.
She further claimed that whenever disagreements arise, her partner becomes physically violent.
The woman said the latest alleged assault occurred just a few days ago while she was eight months pregnant.
According to her, Bernard beats her with a belt and, at times, a wire, leaving visible marks all over her body.
When contacted by the programme's producers, Bernard admitted to assaulting her but claimed he did so after she stopped him from disciplining his daughter.
He alleged that the woman insulted him when he attempted to punish his daughter for allegedly damaging one of his electronic devices.
The woman alleged that she had earlier reported to the police but received further beatings when she returned home.
