A video has surfaced showing a thief snatching the bag of an elderly woman along the Achimota Forest Road.

The footage shared by SIKAOFFICIAL on July 17, 2026, captured the dramatic incident captioned, “Dashcam footage of the moment a brazen thief swiftly grabbed the bag of an elderly passenger from a moving vehicle at the Achimota Overhead Area before fleeing into the Achimota Forest”.

In the video, the woman, dressed in a yellow outfit and seated in a taxi caught in traffic, was seen struggling with the thief who forcefully grabbed her bag through the window.

Immediately after seizing it, the suspect bolted into the nearby forest, prompting both the driver and the passenger to step out of the vehicle in pursuit.

However, the thief managed to escape through the bushes and could not be apprehended.

The footage has sparked mixed reactions online.

Some X users blamed the taxi driver for failing to honk or chase the thief, while others tagged the Ghana Police Service, urging them to intensify patrols along that stretch of the road.
