The Ghana Police Service has apprehended three additional suspects in connection with the murder of Indian national Devendra Singh, raising the total number of arrests to four.
Singh had previously been reported missing, prompting police to initiate an investigation.
"The breakthrough in the case occurred on April 25, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., when police received information that the victim's vehicle had been found abandoned on the outskirts of Sabin Akrofuom, near Royal Lemosey Hospital," police said.
A team dispatched to the scene discovered the vehicle parked by the roadside.
Upon inspection, officers found the lifeless body of Devendra Singh in the boot of the car, with multiple stab wounds.
During a press conference on Friday, May 8, 2026, Director of Public Affairs DCOP Grace Ansah-Akrofi announced that, "intelligence operations conducted on April 29 and 30 led to the arrests of Osman Moro, alias Tiago, age 20; Hakim Kudjoe Jnr; and Moro Sulley, alias Moro Aboboyaa."
These arrests followed the earlier apprehension of one, John Adokpo, also known as Peter.
According to police reports, "Hakim Kudjoe Jnr admitted his involvement in the crime, stating that on April 24, 2036, he went to the deceased’s workplace and, with the assistance of suspect Moro Sulley, replaced the CCTV camera server. He later guided the police to the location where the CCTV server had been retrieved."
Hakim Kudjoe Jnr also confessed to stealing Singh’s iPhone 17 Pro Max and a Tecno mobile phone following the murder.
"He allegedly handed the iPhone to Osman Moro at Kaase and gave the Tecno phone to Moro Sulley," the report revealed
Osman Moro later led police to a nearby bush where the iPhone was recovered; it had been wrapped in a brown envelope and buried in a hole covered with leaves.
ACP Ansah-Akrofi noted that Moro Sulley was identified as the individual who assisted in replacing the CCTV server, while John Adokpo admitted to driving the victim’s vehicle to the location where it was eventually found.
"All suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with the ongoing investigation, while efforts continue to apprehend two additional individuals believed to be connected to the case," it stated.
