The Ghana Police Service has said that they have arrested one person in connection with the murder of an Indian national in Kumasi.
The deceased, identified as Devendra Singh, had earlier been reported missing but was later found dead in the boot of his car at Konkoli, near Sabin Akrofuom.

The suspect is currently in custody and assisting police with investigations.
Police said the victim’s vehicle was discovered on April 25, 2026, around 2:00 pm, parked by the roadside near Royal Lemosey Hospital. Officers who moved to the scene found the lifeless body of the victim in the boot with multiple stab wounds.
“The Police have arrested one person in connection with the murder of an Indian national, Devendra Singh, in Kumasi. The suspect is currently in custody and assisting with investigations,” a police statement dated April 26, 2026, read.
The statement further explained that the body was retrieved and conveyed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy, while the vehicle has been impounded for further investigations.
“The lifeless body of the deceased was discovered in the boot of the vehicle with multiple stab wounds,” the statement added.
Reports indicate that Singh, who lived at Ahenema Kokoben, was declared missing days before the discovery. According to Adum TV, bloodstains found at the scene suggested possible foul play.
“A few days ago, we reported on a missing Indian national. Following police investigations, his car was found parked at Konkoli, and he was discovered dead inside the boot. Bloodstains were also found at the scene, and police have begun investigations,” a reporter said.
A resident also told the media that the vehicle was parked at the location and was initially assumed to have broken down.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police has deployed a special team made up of intelligence officers and homicide investigators to support the Ashanti Regional Police Command.
