A young Ghanaian couple, Abena Benewa, 24, and Bright Ashiao, 26, have reportedly been arrested by the Ghana Police Service for allegedly killing their child.
According to a post shared by SikaOfficial on March 9, 2026, the suspects were arrested at Awutu Bontrase in the Awutu Senya West District for allegedly beheading their three-day-old baby for suspected money rituals.
The report further noted that residents in the community discovered the disfigured body of the baby at a refuse dump.

It added that during further questioning by residents, the couple claimed that the "baby had been pronounced dead at birth by a traditional birth attendant in Bontrase, but failed to explain the severed body parts."
The post also indicated that the suspects have since been handed over to the Awutu Beraku District Police Command for further investigation into the incident.
