Ex-convict back in jail for stealing goat

Hohoe, Aug 22, GNA - A three-time jailbird, Foster Dzator, unemployed has been handed 24 months' jail term in hard labour by a Hohoe magistrate court for stealing and being on premises for unlawful purpose.

Dzator, a resident of Likpe-Agbozume, was convicted on his plea of guilty with explanation to the two charges that would run concurrently. Police Inspector Emmanuel Kpodo told the court presided over by Ms Janet Awo Bakudie that Dzator unlawfully entered the pen of the complainant and stole a nanny-goat on July 12.

He said the complainant arrested Dzator with the goat on same day at Likpe-Mate in the Hohoe Municipality and handed him over to the police.

Ms Bakudie described Dzator as a terror and somebody not deterred by conviction after he had appeared three times in court under different surnames.

She ordered that the goat be returned to the owner.
