Woman jailed for stealing.

Tema, Sept 23, GNA - A 20-year old woman described by police as a drug addict has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment by the Tema Circuit Court 'B' for stealing a radio tape recorder valued at 1.2 million cedis.

Rebecca Nuertey pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful entry and stealing.

Police Chief Inspector Alice Gyamfi told the court that on September 9 the complainant returned from work and found that his room had been broken into and the items stolen.

Chief Inspector Gyamfi said the complainant suspected the accused person and reported her to the police. When she was questioned she admitted stealing the items and said she had sold them to an electrician for 60,000 cedis.
