Two in court for defiling victim in turns

Two persons, who allegedly took turns to defile a 14-year old girl in a bush at Oyibi, have appeared before an Accra Circuit Court charged with defilement.

William Gem and Reuben Edze, Welding Apprentice, who allegedly defiled the victim on two occasions, have denied the charge.

The court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh has remanded the accused persons into Police custody to reappear on August 13.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Moses Atibillah told the court that the complainant was a mason residing at Oyibi.

The victim a class three pupil lives with the victim at Oyibi.

The accused persons both 18 years work with a welding shop at Oyibi.

During the early part of July, the accused persons lured the victim into nearby bush, which was about 50 meters away from the workshop and they had sex with the victim in turns.

ACP Atibillah said on July 26, at about 1800 hours the complainant sent the victim to go and buy bread and while returning, the accused persons lured the victim again to the bush and had sex with the victim in turns.

After the act, prosecution said the victim bled. At about 8:30pm, the complainant went round the vicinity looking for the victim.

Prosecution said the complainant found the victim at a junction in the vicinity and when she was quizzed she narrated her ordeal to him.

A report was made to the Police and accused persons were nabbed.
