Two imprisoned for stealing

Two persons have been sentenced to three months imprisonment each by a Tarkwa Magistrate court for stealing GH¢1, 075.00.

Adu Fabrigas, 21 and Micheal Eshun, 18, who were recently convicted on a similar offence by the same court pleaded guilty to the charge.

Police Inspector Faustina Celestina Anaman told the court presided over by Mr Jonathan Nunoo said the complainant owns a shop at Kwabedu and lives at New Atuabo, a suburb of Tarkwa.

According to the Prosecution, for some time now the complainant has been recording series of theft cases in her shop.

As a result the complainant installed a Close Circuit Television (CCTV) to help her track the culprits.

Inspector Anaman said on October 18, the complainant left the shop under the care of her sales girls for town, on her return she was informed that some two boys, came there under the pretext of buying a singlet, and stole the money from a container placed in the shop.

The complainant became upset and she sacked the sales girls and decided to manage the shop herself.

She said the complainant later replayed the CCTV footage and saw Adu and Eshun as the culprits.

On October 28, around 8:30 am, whilst the complainant was in the shop the convicts entered and tried to play the same trick on her.

The complainant recognised them and reported them to the Tarkwa police where they were arrested and after investigations put before court.
