The prosecution, led by Chief Inspector K. Adu, told the court that the accused persons on March 30, this year, robbed the couple – Paa Gyimah Gene and Emelia Addae Genfi.

They are reported to have stolen US$19,950; GH¢8,000; €5,000; £900, 3 mobile phones, iPad, a box containing jewelry and other items their value of which were yet unknown.

In a court presided over by Aboagye Tandoh, the duo denied the charges of conspiracy to rob and robbery and was remanded in police custody until April 18.

Narrating the events leading to the arrest of the two accused persons, Ch/Insp. Adu stated that at about 1:50 am on the said day while the complainants were asleep, the accused persons and their accomplices climbed the fence wall of their house and gained entry into it.

The prosecutor said that the accused persons, at gunpoint, robbed the couple of the afore-stated sums of money and items, adding that at 3am on the same day, a witness in the case through a tracking device stored on the phone of Emelia, assisted the police to arrest the two persons while the others escaped.
