Suspected rapist nabbed by U/E Police

A 26 year old man suspected to have raped three juvenile girls in Navrongo, has been arrested by the Upper East Regional Police Command.

The victims aged, 11, 13 and 14 years respectively, are school drop outs.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Thomas Yaw Agbanyo, Regional Police Public Relations Officer disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Bolgatanga on Monday.

The suspect was identified as Abdul Aziz Ibrahim, a resident of Navrongo in the Upper East Region and a computer game centre operative.

According to ASP Agbonyo, the suspect had sex with the three victims together consecutively for a week due to their vulnerability.

On the day before he was apprehended, he had promised the victims GHC50.00, which he failed to, and assured them to return the next day which they obliged.

The next day, the suspect again had sex with them leading to excessive bleeding through the private parts of one of the victims. Whilst discussing their ordeal, a passer-by heard them talking about the incident and reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of the suspect.

He is currently on remand and would be arraigned before court.
