A second-year student at the Takoradi Technical Institute (TTI), Emmanuel Sam, popularly known as Agogo, has been sentenced to six months in prison for stabbing a teacher on campus.

According to a 3news.com report on September 26, 2025, the court, in addition to handing Sam a custodial sentence, ordered him to pay GH¢3,000 in compensation to the injured teacher or, in default, serve an extra three months in prison. He was further fined GH¢2,400.

The incident occurred on September 23, 2025, when Sam reportedly used an unauthorised route to enter the school premises.

“A teacher on duty apprehended him and attempted to escort him to the senior housemaster for disciplinary action,” the report stated.

The report further explained that in a bid to avoid the housemaster, Sam pulled a pair of scissors from his pocket and stabbed the teacher in the arm. He was quickly overpowered with the help of other teachers, arrested, and handed over to the Central Police Station.

It added that Sam had a history of truancy and absenteeism, which had been a source of concern to school authorities prior to the attack.
