The Tema Regional Police Command has detailed items retrieved from two armed robbery suspects who were shot following an incident at Community 5 in Tema on Monday, April 13, 2026.
According to a statement shared on Facebook on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, a search conducted after an exchange of gunfire led to the recovery of a black 9mm Luger pistol loaded with four rounds of ammunition, three Android mobile phones, assorted SIM cards, a talisman, a Royal motorbike key, and cash amounting to GH₵11,390.
“A search conducted on the suspects led to the retrieval of a pistol, mobile phones, SIM cards, a talisman, and cash of GH₵11,390. Investigations further revealed that the Ghana Card recovered from the suspects belongs to the robbery victim,” a statement signed by ASP Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs at the Command, said.
Police also retrieved one spent cartridge from the robbery scene.
Further investigations established that the Ghana Card found on the suspects belonged to the victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to the leg during the attack.

The victim is currently receiving medical treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
According to police, the suspects fled on a motorbike after robbing a mobile money vendor but were pursued and shot during a gun battle near Smart Hotel.
They were later pronounced dead at the Police Hospital.
Providing further details, police said the suspects attacked a mobile money vendor at Aba Fosuah Plaza.
One of the assailants, who was riding as a pillion passenger, reportedly posed as a customer before pulling out a pistol and demanding the victim’s bag containing cash.
When the victim resisted, the rider joined in the struggle, during which the pillion allegedly shot the vendor in the leg.
The suspects then fled with the bag on a motorbike.
A patrol team from the Regional Operations Unit, which was nearby on routine security duties, responded swiftly to a distress call.
The suspects, riding a black Royal motorbike with registration number M-24-GE 778, reportedly opened fire on the pursuing officers near Community 6.

Police returned fire, hitting both suspects, who fell off the motorbike.
