According to Chief Inspector James Henry Amoh of the Nsuta Police Station, the police had a distress call from one of the victims around 04:45 hours and they rushed to the crime scene but could not get the armed robbers.

He said thinking that it was a luggage from a moving vehicle, he reversed to pick it and immediately he stopped two people emerged from the bush, masked and armed with an AK 47 machine gun and a pistol, and ordered him and the passengers to get down.

He said they told them to lie down and were robbed of their money and mobile phones. He said a taxi cab and a Ford vehicle from Effiduase were also attacked. But the taxi cab managed to escape though they shot one of his tyres.
