The man who has been jailed for seven months for threatening to kill President John Dramani Mahama and government officials, David Kwodwo Prah Afful, had an interesting message to Ghanaians before he was taken to jail.

Speaking to the media before he was transported to jail, Prah Afful, who describes himself as the 2nd Kwame Nkrumah, asserted that his imprisonment would only strengthen his resolve.

He disclosed his vision of becoming the president of Ghana, adding that he would be back stronger.

He added that his time in prison is part of the process for him to become president of Ghana, just like his role model, Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

“I’m being taken to jail… Before my father (Kwame Nkrumah) became president, he was arrested.

“I am in the process, just like my father, Kwame Nkrumah, who was also arrested. I will return,” he said.

David Kwodwo Prah Afful was seen in a viral video threatening to kill President Mahama, Members of Parliament, and other government officials if he had a gun or a cutlass.

He appeared before an Accra Circuit Court, where he pleaded guilty to charges of threat of death and offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace.

He, however, pleaded with government officials to forgive him for his behaviour.

Afful was arrested for issuing death threats and inciting violence during a TikTok livestream.
He is also reported to have threatened to burn marketplaces and encouraged others to carry out similar acts.

The police picked him up at his hideout near Kasoa Market around 2:20 pm on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
