Policeman kills mobile money thief as two others flee with cash

Chief Inspector Ebenezer Kannor is reported to have gunned down a suspected mobile money thief.

According to a report by MyNewsGH.com, two others however made away with an unspecified amount of money. The three suspected thieves, who are alleged to have armed themselves with knives and pistols, stormed a shop belonging to one Evelyn Kesenuh.

Chief Inspector Kannor, a member of the Very Important Persons Protection Unit [VIPPU] of the Ghana Police Service, was at the scene at the time of the incident, and managed to shoot down one of them.

The body of the deceased body has since been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue while a black pistol found on the robber is currently being examined.

Police Officials have revealed that investigations are underway in order to apprehend the two other suspects said to be on the run.
