Police sources told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the body bore no signs of foul play and that they were waiting for a post-mortem report from the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital to determine the next line of action.

Mr James Agbalenyo, Assembly Member of the area, in a story, corroborated by the Police said the deceased was said to have slipped and fell a quarter of a kilometre away from his home last Saturday, while returning from Mafi-Venu, where he went to submit returns of lotto tickets he had sold.

He said the deceased, who was tipsy managed to tell children passing by to tell his three wives to come to his aid. Mr Agbalenyo said the deceased was not at the scene, when his wives arrived thirty minutes later. He said a search party found the body of the deceased the following day, some thirty meters away from the spot he initially fell.
