The Police are on the heels of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for the Asene Akroso Manso constituency in the Eastern Region, Frank Anim Bediako for allegedly stealing and selling a car belonging to Samson Okuampa Agyemang, a business man in the area.

The Chairman has failed to return the Mercedes Benz car with registration number GG 4653 2015 ever since he borrowed it from last November to run some errands.

In an interview with Kasapa News, a livid Mr Okuampa Agyemang was shocked at the turn of events because he said he gave his car out in an act of benevolence, since the chairman who came to his home requested to use the car when it was late in the night and he had to get home.

“I have called him several times and he is not picking up. He told me he has sold the car to pay his debt. I still have the car papers and a spare key, so how can he sell my car off. I’ve already given him GHC 10,000 and have promised him he should come back in a week’s time and that I’ll help him pay his debt”.

He added: The Chairman knows I’m sick and cannot chase him. We even laid ambush for him last week during the one week observation of the passing of the late MP J.B Danquah but he didn’t attend the event fearing he will be arrested. He told somebody on phone that he’s referred the matter to his lawyer, I was benevolent and gave you my car, how can you do this to me now? If I wanted you to sell the car, I would have given you the papers, I will not allow this matter to go away”.

Meanwhile, efforts to reach the accused Chairman to hear his side of the issue have proved futile.
