Police demolish criminal hideouts in Fitter-Line

The Ashaiman District Police Command has demolished structures suspected to be used as hideouts by criminals at Fitter-Line. This occurred during an operation to clamp down on crime ahead of the Christmas festivities.

The swoop, conducted on October 17, 2026, was led by District Commander DSP Orlando Joseph Adzokpa and involved 30 police personnel.

The operation was aimed at flushing out suspected criminals believed to be terrorising residents in and around Ashaiman and dismantling places allegedly used as hideouts.

However, the suspects reportedly fled upon noticing the presence of the police, preventing officers from making any arrests during the exercise.

The police team subsequently demolished the structures identified as suspected hideouts.

The command indicated that similar operations would continue as part of efforts to strengthen security and reduce criminal activities in the municipality.

According to the police, the measures are intended to ensure that residents can undertake their daily activities and operate legitimate businesses without fear or intimidation before, during and after the Christmas season.
