Police arrest notorious land guards
Though they tried resisting the arrest, they were overpowered when the police called for backup
The police have arrested an alleged notorious land guard known as Theophilus Ankama Aryee, his brother Prosper Aryee a security man and their cronies.
The two who have been terrorising landowners at Kwabenya were arrested by the National Operations team from the police headquarters upon a tipoff.
They usually employ and recruit the services of well-known notorious land guards from Avenor at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle who usually ride on motorbikes to the Accra High Court Complex to cause mayhem, threats and attack people from Kwabenya during and after court hearings on disputed land cases.
COP Dampare, Director of The National Police Operations upon a tip-off deployed a high powered anti-land guard patrol operations team of 15 cars both from the police headquarters and the Accra Regional commander to effect the arrest of the land guards at Avenor in Accra.
Even though they tried resisting the arrest, they were overpowered when the police called for backup from the Accra Regional commander's team.
